Tinian High School Stallion Battalion
"To motivate young people to become better citizens."
tinian annual hot pepper festivalRecent Event(s) // February 15-17, 2020For the three days that Pika Fest was going on, the Stallion Battalion held morning, afternoon, and evening sessions to pick up trash, replace trash bags, and collect bottles and aluminum cans. There were blue bins and wired containers that were labeled specifically for aluminum cans and plastic bottles. We would like to thank the community of Tinian for putting their aluminum cans and plastic bottles in the respected areas.
The Color Guard Team (Commander: C/CSM Julia Biton, C/1LT Kiran Shrestha, C/1SG William Tudela, C/SGT Chit Acollador) presented the colors for the opening ceremony. Afterward, both Unarmed and Armed Drill Teams performed a snippet of their exhibition routine to bring some spice to the festival. When it was time for the Spicy Burger Eating Contest, several cadets (volunteered to serve the burgers to the contestants. They wore decorative aprons and signature JC Cafe chef's hats. Also, C/CPL Gio Vergara participated in the Tug-O-War that happened on Sunday, February 16th. mini jpa (part i)last month // january 29, 2020On January 29, 2020, United States Army Recruiter Staff Sergeant Michael A. Ryan arrived at Tinian Jr./Sr. High School to evaluate the Tinian JROTC Stallion Battalion for their inspection phase in preparation for the triennial JPA, which is scheduled for December 2020. The last JPA that occurred on December 2017, the Stallion Battalion received a 97 percent rating, allowing the unit to receive its gold star, or better known as the “Honor Unit with Distinction.”
Sergeant Ryan evaluated the regulation team on platoon drill and made remarks that would help the team’s improvement. He then inspected each JROTC block, asking the provided JPA questions that cadets were given to study. Following that was the Color Guard performance that was performed by C/2LT Emiliana King, C/SSG John Mark Palilio, C/SFC William Tudela, and C/SGT Chit Acollador. Between events, Sergeant Ryan interviewed chosen cadets of all grade or LET levels on their portfolios that they had been building since the moment they stepped into JROTC. The final part was the Continuous Improvement Plan which is the Stallion Battalion’s “Aluminum Recycling Can Program”. The staff and cadet leadership presented their contributions to the CIP and their duty responsibilities. |
